Hexagon Strengthens Presence in South America with Acquisition of Leica Geosystems Distributor MANFRA
15 April 2013
Hexagon AB, leading global provider of design, measurement and visualisation solutions, has acquired all shares in MANFRA, the Brazil-based distributor of Leica Geosystems products for nearly 30 years.
In addition to the company’s partnership with Leica Geosystems, MANFRA is also the developer of Posição topography software for the surveying sector. Founded in 1978 in Curitiba, MANFRA serves the surveying and engineering, construction, mining and agriculture industries, primarily in the south and west Brazilian markets.
“MANFRA’s strong installed base in the Brazilian territory and expanded footprint across the region strengthens our penetration in this emerging market,” said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén. “In addition to increased distribution capabilities in the whole of South America, we look forward to the unique application knowledge and products the MANFRA acquisition brings to the Hexagon family. Both will help add value to our solutions and better serve the evolving needs of the local customer base.”
MANFRA will be fully consolidated as of today and will contribute to Hexagon's earnings. Excluding intercompany revenue, the company's turnover for 2012 amounted to approximately 7 MEUR.
