Hexagon acquires metrology company with peak competence

HEXAGON ACQUIRES METROLOGY COMPANY WITH PEAK COMPETENCE Hexagon has through its wholly-owned subsidiary Brown & Sharpe, taken over the employees and acquired the assets related to the agency of Brown & Sharpe and Renishaw from Mikromess AB. The operation has a turnover of approximately 30 SEK million and employs 15 persons. The transaction will be concluded on 1st of September. The new Swedish company will market Brown & Sharpes products and further develop the aftermarket, in accordance with the concept, which Brown & Sharpe successfully has developed on other markets all over the world. The company will also assume the responsibility for the coordination of Brown & Sharpe's further expansion in the Nordic and Baltic markets and for market Renishaws measurement probes and other systems in de Swedish and Norwegian markets. Brown & Sharpe, which is part of the Hexagon business area Metrology, is a world leading player in metrology with production of coordinate measurement machines (CMM:s) and hand tools within 7 business units all over the world. Extensive aftermarket services are fulfilled by 20 regional so called Precision Centres with responsibility for upgrade of machines and software, education, contracted maintenance and other services.
