VISIUS: Your entry-level optical CMM for efficient quality control


Basic configuration

VISIUS comes in a simple all-in-one configuration and in three machine sizes. The basic version comprises, as standard, the non-contact vision sensor as the primary measuring sensor and an overview camera for easy part navigation and visualisation. Also included in the package is the easy-to-use metrology software Metus. VISIUS is calibrated to ISO 10360 standards.

 

VISIUS is available in three machine sizes to serve specific inspection requirements. All versions are optimised for the smallest possible footprint, ensuring easy integration into existing manufacturing environments with limited floor space.

VISIUS: Machine sizes


The vision sensor is the primary measuring sensor on VISIUS and offers the fastest way to measure very small features or sensitive and thin parts with high accuracy. In addition, the vision sensor’s autofocus function automatically focuses on features at different heights on the part and enables precise distance measurements in the Z axis.

Ease of operation with safe human-machine interaction

VISIUS comes equipped with an integrated overview camera, which provides a live Navigation View of the workpiece on the machine stage right in the Metus GUI. This allows operators to quickly locate a part in the measuring area and intuitively point-and-click navigate the vision sensor to any desired measuring position on the part. Usability is enhanced as there is no need to use the joystick. Programming tasks are simplified and accelerated by eliminating time-consuming trial-and-error approaches of the operator during part navigation and sensor positioning.

Unlike other systems on the entry-level market, VISIUS offers ISO 10360 standard-compliant measurement accuracy, ensuring traceability of measurement results and guaranteeing the reliability of measurements in the entire measurement volume of the machine.

Options for multisensor flexibility

VISIUS offers multisensor integration for the touch trigger probe and the chromatic white light sensor (CWS). This enables more complete, single-cycle measurements from only one machine, with less part handling, increased measurement throughput and at lower cost.


The touch trigger probe HH-T on VISIUS captures discrete measuring points in the Z direction for measurements of height features and flatness. As required, the HH-T can be manually swivelled into the measuring volume and features a rugged design for use in even the harshest industrial environments.

VISIUS: Touch trigger probe


This non-contact point distance sensor allows for surface-independent height and flatness measurements in the Z direction and for thickness measurement of transparent objects. The CWS adds the ability for fast profile scans on all surfaces and thanks to its coaxial sensor technology, the measurement in tiny grooves, cavities and holes without shadowing effect and without loss of data near step height changes.

VISIUS: Chromatic white light sensor (CWS)


The rotary indexing table is an angular positioning device that enables automatic part rotation during a Metus measuring routine, providing access to features from different rotational positions without having to manually reposition the part. Users benefit from reduced part handling and setup times, single-cycle measurements across multiple part orientations and increased measurement throughput.

VISIUS is ready for use with HxGN Visual Detection, Hexagon's AI-based tool for automated surface defect detection to enable dimensional feature measurement and surface inspection in a connected workflow and with a single optical CMM.
