Absolute Arm: versatility

The Absolute Arm is nothing if not versatile. For touch probe measurement there are almost 100 probe tip accessories available, including straight probes, angled probes, trigger probes and infrared tube probes, all in various lengths and measurement tip diameters.

For 3D laser scanning, there’s the unbeatable Absolute Scanner AS1, quickly and easily mountable on the Absolute Arm wrist for straightforward high-speed surface and feature digitisation. Powered by our advanced SHINE algorithms, the AS1 can deliver fast and accurate measurements on a wide variety of surface types without requiring the user to learn complex settings combinations – just quick and simple versatile measurement functionality.

And the AS1 has a trick up its sleeve that makes it even more versatile, powered by our unique modular laser scanner concept that allows for instant dismounting and remounting of the scanner by the user with no need for realignment. With the premium AS1 this concept goes a step further, allowing for it to be mounted on-the-fly and with no realignment to a handheld positioner device that that can be used in combination with an Absolute Tracker. This allows users the ability to measurement across greater volumes while retaining the consistency of results delivered by the exact same scanner unit, as well as reducing investment needs by allowing a single high-end scanner to be shared by two or more measurement systems.

Alongside this sits the Absolute Scanner AS1-XL, a 3D laser scanner designated to meeting the need of emerging 3D scanning applications for which higher productivity is the priority. With the Absolute Scanner AS1-XL, the SHINE technology central to the performance of the Absolute Scanner AS1 now reaches a bigger scale. An extra-wide scan line, extended stand-off and flagship-level measurement speed make the AS1-XL a quantum leap forward in large-scale non-contact measurement for portable measuring arms.

Then there’s the RS5 Laser Scanner, our general-purpose 3D laser scanner aimed at those with less challenging applications for whom the cutting-edge technology of the AS1 is unnecessary. Also available is the HP-L-8.9 Laser Scanner, an entry-level solution for 6-axis arms that makes for the perfect introduction to contactless measurement functionality.

Other Absolute Arm options include a variety of Control Packs that deliver useful features such as cable-free WiFi operation, full battery-powered measurement, making the Absolute Arm even more portable.
