Brazil’s first teleoperated 8x4 mining truck
In what’s described as a watershed moment for Brazilian mines, Hexagon partners with Scania and Fidens to successfully debut Brazil’s first ever remotely operated 8x4 mining truck.
Operate heavy machinery from a control station on the surface or a safe area underground. Keep miners at a safe distance from hazardous conditions while increasing productivity and reducing costs—using equipment you already own.
Get more done in less time with the turnkey solution for remotely operating any make, model or year of heavy machinery in your mine.
Hexagon TeleOp is remote-control technology designed for heavy machinery and equipment. Operate heavy machinery from a control station on the surface or a safe area underground, regardless of distance.
TeleOp allows you to put a safe distance between miners and hazardous working conditions while getting more done in less time and at a lower cost using the heavy machinery you already own.
Flexible options include bring-your-own digital network integration or our plug-and-play backbone
network. Our solution design team ensures backward compatibility with updates and changes for easy integration and continued performance across existing systems and technologies.
Underground Wi-Fi and digital network are part of the bundle, which can be leveraged for other
operational use. You have full control of installed networks. 3D SLAM (simultaneous localisation and mapping) technology helps you navigate complex and dynamic environments without human intervention, providing precise location and mapping information for autonomous equipment underground.
Equipped with cutting-edge onboard processing power, including NVIDIA GPUs, TeleOp can handle complex algorithms and large datasets, essential for future autonomous applications.
Integrates Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) cameras to support high-speed data transmission with minimal bandwidth consumption, allowing for scalable and efficient video processing, crucial for autonomous systems.
Incorporates a comprehensive range of sensors, including global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and other critical components, to ensure precise navigation and situational awareness.

TeleOp is a virtual command chair for the truck operator, enabling safe navigation of vehicles from kilometres away. Onboard cameras and sensors allow operators to perform all normal driving tasks from the chair.
