Flexibility is a necessity when you work with teams all over the world, and for Sachin Mathur, Global Program Manager and Head of Partnerships (Smart Factory) for Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, this is no exception.

“Every day starts at sunrise and ends late because we work all the way from the West Coast of the United States to China,” says Mathur. “What we are doing here at Hexagon is new and exciting by working towards digitalising a heavily traditional industry of discrete manufacturing — which will create a positive outcome for our customers.”

This is essentially who Hexagon is, we are a team that is made up of all different types of people from various cultural backgrounds.

Having worked with Hexagon for over six years, Mathur understands the importance of innovation and opportunity. Transitioning from the mining division in Australia to the manufacturing division in Switzerland, Mathur has helped establish and move Hexagon’s Smart Manufacturing initiative forward through the development of integrated solution concepts and software.

He is also incredibly proud of his culturally diverse team, which includes members from China, India, Switzerland, Germany, and the United States.

“This is essentially who Hexagon is, we are a team that is made up of all different types of people from various cultural backgrounds,” said Mathur. “That alone helps you to learn a lot more about the importance of working with people and provides a sense of community. Our team is sensitive and understanding to the cultural differences of others, which helps to define the culture of our office.”

Whether it’s sitting in his office in Heerbrugg on a virtual call or meeting a customer and partner, Mathur says the best part of working for Hexagon has been the opportunities he’s had to learn and grow personally.

“I think what makes working for Hexagon so exciting is starting something brand new, something that has never been done before in the organization,” said Mathur.
