Simulation of mechanical joining processes using Simufact Forming

Objective
SFT102 is the course for Simufact Forming users in the field of mechanical joining technology. Students will learn how to build a model based on real mechanical joining processes and to calculate and to evaluate these models using Simufact Forming.
Additional to creating complete process chains and calculating the mechanical joining processes in Simufact Forming the student is also enabled to assess the strength of the joint in this program. The focus of this Training is to teach the user a “step by step”- guideline to modeling and analyzing his own mechanical joining processes.
Content
- Introduction to the structure of Simufact Forming, specifically Joining module
- Import CAD and prepare the geometry
- Model three different joining processes (self-pierce riveting, blind rivets and clinching)
- Special features to model contact between deformable bodies (segment-to-segment method)
- Transfer results within process chain
- Modelling destructive tests (pull-out tension, shear tension, peeling tension)
- Modelling adhesive
