Objective:
You will acquire the basics to work with MSC Nastran. This includes the investigation of linear statics, Natural frequency calculations, linear buckling analyzes and advanced linear analysis methods.

  • Introduction to the finite element method
  • Structure of the MSC Nastran input file
  • Presentation of different element types (trusses, beams, shell, solid elements)
  • Specification of element properties
  • Definition of linear material properties and definition of loads and boundary conditions
  • Model checking, modeling hints and preference for requesting selected results
  • Solving problems in linear statics (SOL101)
  • Natural Frequency Analysis (SOL103) and Linear Buckling Analysis (SOL105)
  • File Management Section
  • Multipoint constraints, R elements, connectors
  • Composite Analysis
  • Touching & Glued contact in linear analysis
  • Tips and Tricks

Prerequisites:
None. Basic knowledge of strength calculation is an advantage.
