Additive Manufacturing plastic components: Process and Structure Simulation

DIG103

Objective:

In this seminar you will learn how to use your additive processes and components (FFF/FDM, SLS) quickly and easily analyze and validate to pursue a "print right the first time" strategy. In doing so, you learn both how you can determine and compensate for manufacturing effects such as distortions and residual stresses, and how to map the anisotropy and non-linearity of 3D printed materials. The included Modules are Digimat AM and RP.

Content:

  • Introduction to the Digimat graphical user interface
  • Set up process simulations (FFF/FDM, SLS) for temperature, distortion and residual stress analyses
  • The mapping of manufacturing codes to FE meshes
  • Coupled structural analysis considering the manufacturing steps
