QUINDOS 2023.2 is the latest release of Hexagon’s world-leading metrology software for special geometries. New features include a powerful new module for mesh and point cloud handling, CNC CAD measurement pattern strategies have been extended for spheres and surfaces and PMI features are now even easier to use. All this and much more in QUINDOS 2023.2

Used for powertrains in aerospace, energy, automotive, and engineering industries. QUINDOS’ structured programming tools enable quality professionals to build highly accurate inspection routines on a range of CMMs. QUINDOS provides an extensive range of modules developed for complex projects and is trusted by leading manufacturers for its versatility and flexibility.

New module for Mesh & Point Cloud handling
Use QUINDOS’ familiar user interface for quick and easy loading of point clouds and for modifying and generating meshes. Use the imported data with standards compliant QUINDOS modules for professional inspection process, analysis & reporting.

Existing QUINDOS inspection plans - used for tactile measurement on CMMs - can be used for the digitised part. Single point probing - scanning (open & closed loop) and self-centring - existing programmes can be easy transferred to point clouds & mesh inspection.

With the successful integration of the Reshaper SDK, points and mesh handling are now available in a single application; professional measurement of special geometries such as gears, blades using the digitised component is possible.

CNC CAD measurement pattern strategies extended for spheres and surfaces
CNC CAD measurement strategies now offer interactive support for spheres and 3D surfaces. With 100% CNC capable and modifiable professional strategies for nominal point generation and measurement strategies, every feature can be reproducibly measured with QUINDOS.

Strategies can be customised with a limited number of parameters via the dialog or with comprehensive parameter access in the editor mode with pre-visualisation.

QUINDOS Inspection Planning with PMIs – now even easier to use
The UI controls have been streamlined to make program creation more efficient. A new operating menu has been integrated for additional convenience and speedier operation.

UI improvements include: reviews with a single click, integrated views in the CAD model can be selected (positioning, section views, feature-oriented views), PMI data can be checked for integration correctness, checks for inactivated references and more.

Other features include: Optional access to individual process steps when processing PMIs for better control (View, Read, Review, Processing individual PMIs, cleaning PMI related data in the database).

Deletion and optimised positioning of self-created QUINDOS Metrology PMIs via the QUINDOS Ribbon

QUINDOS now supports one-click workflows: View, Review & Organize - Use one command instead of 3 steps

QUINDOS 2023.2 offers other new features and improvements, including:

Feature Polygon is now part of the Curves option
Analysis of non-circular profiles are now available with the Curves option

Supports outside and inside profiles of

  • P3G-Profil DIN 32711 (harmonic triangle profile)
  • P4C-Profil DIN 32712 (disharmonious rounded square profile)

QUINDOS Capto Profiles - UI makeover and optimisation
The option has been standardised in 2023.2 and now offers more intuitive handling and follows the Dark / Light UI mode with standard UI for special geometries.

QUINDOS Capto Profiles takes over the analysis of tool holders / adapters of processing machines according to the standards:

  • Shafts according to ISO 26623-1
(polygonal hollow shaft taper with face contact - Part 1: Dimensions and designation of shafts)
  • Holder according to ISO 26623-2
(polygonal hollow shaft taper with face contact - Part 2: Dimensions and designation of recordings)

QUINDOS offers the vertical and horizontal measurement for raw parts (pre-processed) and finished parts (finished) of tool holders and bushings

QUINDOS Linear Broach - extended scope
The standardised option for linear form broaches has been optimised and the following evaluations & measurement strategies have been added:

  • Reference surfaces are now acquired via scans
  • Evaluation of pitch distances and flank heights
  • Scan of the cutting-edge angle at type H has been integrated
  • For type C, the following has been integrated:
the acquisition/evaluation of oblique cutting edges, the head cutting edge and the tooth height of the head cutting edge
  • Technical Data

    Operating System
    QUINDOS 2023.2 runs on 64-bit Windows® 10.

The minimum requirement is Windows® 10 Version 21H2

The recommended version is Windows® 10 Version 22H2.

The latest I++ Simulator Release Version 2021R1 is recommended.

    Microsoft .NET Framework
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows is required.
The QUINDOS installer will install it for you.

    Hardware
We recommend the following hardware configuration when using the QUINDOS software package including CAD options and when using QUINDOS with the QUINDOS Reshaper option or the I++Simulator software package:

    • Processor: Intel® Xeon® W-2445 Processor (26.25 MB Cache, 3.1 GHz to 4.6 GHz Turbo)
      • RAM: 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) incl. ECC memory
      • Graphics card: Nvidia Quadro RTX4000, 8 GB, 3DP, VirtualLink
      • Hard drive: 1 x 256 GB SSD HD, 1 x 2 TB SATA HD
      • Monitor: 2 x 24 inch HD Monitors (resolution 1920 x 1080)

We recommend a second TFT-Monitor when using CAD functionalities and when using QUINDOS with the QUINDOS Reshaper option or the environment I++Simulator.

A second network interface card is required for communication with the measuring machine.

Please check whether or not a serial interface is required for connecting to your measuring device. This may be the case on older measuring machines.

Please also note the information in the Release Notes of the QUINDOS Release Version 2022.3.

    SMA (Software Maintenance Agreement)
We recommend purchasing a current Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) in order to avail of the newest QUINDOS functions and latest updates.

Please note, a valid software license agreement is required to use this version.

2023.2 can be used with a valid SMA contract dates from (and including) 31 June 2022.

The SMA end date is checked during the installation process.

QUINDOS 2023.2 contains numerous improvements and fixes in the basic package and individual QUINDOS modules. Contact your local Hexagon branch or dealer for further information.

The SMA also enables ongoing access to technical Support and Service.
