Hexagon acquires software technology assets in the US
9 May 2007
Hexagon has acquired all technology assets of the American software company Acquis, Inc. (www.acquisinc.com).
Acquis is a leader in the development of web-based data editing, with a turnover of about 3 MUSD. The company operates from Palo Alto, US and Dublin, Ireland and employs about 10 people.
"The geospatial market is continuing to rapidly evolve and the demand for geospatial information is increasing at a significant pace. The addition of technology from Acquis makes geospatial information more accessible to larger enterprise businesses and enables more users the ability to use geospatial information in their day to day business needs", says Ola Rollén, CEO and President of Hexagon AB.
Acquis will be consolidated as of 1 April 2007 and will immediately contribute to Hexagon's earnings.
"The acquisition of Acquis is a further step in Hexagon's growth strategy and commitment to software development. Acquis complements Hexagon's software range and will add additional intellectual property to the group", says Ola Rollén.
