Hexagon acquires German geomatics dealer
25 July 2007
Hexagon has entered into an agreement to acquire the operating assets and liabilities of Gesswein GmbH in Germany.
Gesswein is a well-established dealer for surveying products in South Western Germany and has been a long-term partner of Leica Geosystems Germany, a subsidiary of Hexagon. Gesswein had a turnover of 1 MEUR in 2006 and showed consistent growth over the past years.
Leica Geosystems will merge its own activities in the region with Gesswein and will set up a regional sales and support office in Gesswein's Karlsruhe based facilities. All former Gesswein employees have been taken over and will join Leica Geosystems' strong team in Germany. Gesswein has an excellent reputation in the region and the combined efforts of Leica Geosystems and the Gesswein organisation will enable Hexagon to provide even better service and support to the market.
Gesswein will be consolidated as of 1 August 2007 and will immediately contribute to Hexagon's earnings.
