QUINDOS 2022.2

QUINDOS 2022.2 is the latest release of Hexagon’s world-leading metrology software for special geometries. New features include click-and-go PMI feature measurements, improved path tracking for single probe and stylus configurations, support for new CAD formats and much more.

Used for powertrains in aerospace, energy, automotive, and engineering industries. QUINDOS’ structured programming tools enable quality professionals to build highly accurate inspection routines on a range of CMMs. QUINDOS provides an extensive range of modules developed for complex projects and is trusted by leading manufacturers for its versatility and flexibility.

New: Click & Go auto PMI feature measurement

QUINDOS now enables direct measurement using PMI data with the ‘Select PMI & Measure’ option. The new time saving click-and-go feature combines three separate processes that would previously be required to measure a feature. Now by selecting a specific feature from the PMI data in the CAD model, QUINDOS can be instructed to measure it directly without any additional programming steps. Measurement results are delivered in the standard QUINDOS report.

New: Click & Go auto PMI feature measurement

New: QUINDOS Modifier support for PMI data extended

Updates for Inspection Planning with PMIs also includes support for additional modifiers on tolerance features. New symbols include projected tolerance zone modifier P for cylinder position plus association methods C, CI, CE, G, GI, GE, X, N according to ISO 1101 for form elements.

New: QUINDOS Modifier support for PMI data extended

New: Machine-specific data transferable to other users

Multiple QUINDOS users are no longer required to set up a new environment and reconfigure QUINDOS from scratch when connected to the same CMM. Users can now share specific hardware configurations including tool changers, calibration spheres and machine profiles etc with colleagues to save time and to hand over work on projects. Each account holder can still set up and access their working environment and applications individually.

New: Machine-specific data transferable to other users

New: Path tracking in safety volumes

QUINDOS offers a new tool to automate and visualise safety moves for single probes and stylus configurations. This is particularly useful with unused tips need to be taken into account when moving probes. The new visualisation guarantees full access to the calculated path for avoidance moves.

New: Path tracking in safety volumes

New: Double indices for feature names

Extending support for custom naming conventions, the use of double indices in QUINDOS can be applied when creating specific IDs for features – particularly when planning to use them downstream in statistical packages.

New: Double indices for feature names

New: QUINDOS supports STEP AP242 CAD format

IGES, STEP AP203, STEP AP214 are already supported in QUINDOS Core.
For STEP 242 CAD format, a new converter module is now available.

QUINDOS 2022.2 also includes various improvements and fixes for the core and individual QUINDOS modules.

  • Features & benefits

    New Plots for ISO 10360-5

With the new version of ISO 10360 acceptance tests for CMMs, QUINDOS provides new plots.

Improved identification within the measurement documentation, highlighting which standard version was used during the acceptance test. Use of the respective valid identifier depending on the standard

Ongoing UI harmonisation for special geometries

New UI for Linear Broaches special geometry. Linear broaches are cutting tools with raised teeth of differing sizes and profile forms They are used for the production of form-fitting connections such as the fir tree profile for Blisk discs.

    Harmonization of reports

    Improved reports for Cylindrical Gears

    • A uniform layout will be used for all reports from now on.
    • All relevant gear parameters of the special geometry are now listed in the report header.
    • Likewise, for all reports, the pictogram area for all plots has been added to inform about the measurement strategy used.
    • This guarantees uniform identification of the evaluations at a glance - whether profiles, helix or pitch measurement and evaluationHarmonization of reports Tolerance zone Ø and SØ is now supported
