HUNTSVILLE, Ala., 6 Dec. 2023

Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division is working with leaders in Poland’s Świętokrzyskie Province to digitize urban planning documents for the area’s 43 municipalities. The project has the potential to expand economic investment in the region, bringing a host of benefits for 1.23 million residents.

The digitized maps and planning documents will provide government officials, businesses and the public better, faster access to spatial planning data from the entire region. The information will be available via the Spatial Information System of the Świętokrzyskie Province as well as the Marshal's Office’s municipal IT platform. Hexagon will design, develop and implement the planning module by adapting its GeoMedia WebMap software in compliance with new spatial urban planning regulations. The collection of data in a single platform will foster easier collaboration between governments and improve access for investors researching opportunities in the historic and economically viable province.

“The implementation of the project will facilitate web-based access to the content of planning documents not only for the region, but also for administration employees and potential investors,” said Marshal Andrzej Betkowski. “We look forward to the benefits the project and Hexagon solutions will bring to the Świętokrzyskie Province.”

"The conversion of urban planning documents into a digital format will enable the integration of urban planning information with various other data stored in the Spatial Information System of the Świętokrzyskie Province (SIPWŚ), such as parcel boundaries or technical infrastructure networks," said Robert Janus, director of the IT department responsible for task implementation.

A decade-long Hexagon customer, Świętokrzyskie Province uses several Hexagon solutions, including GeoMedia WebMap, Geospatial Portal, GeoSpatial SDI and remote sensing and data management software ERDAS IMAGINE and ERDAS APOLLO.

“We’re proud to continue our longstanding relationship with Świętokrzyskie entrusted Hexagon with this historic project,” said Maximilian Weber, senior vice president, EMEA, Hexagon’s “ will provide user friendly access to this large volume of public data.”
