Hexagon releases Citizen Reporting for HxGN OnCall Records

14 June 2023

LAS VEGAS, 14 June 2023

Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division released a new Citizen Reporting portal for its HxGN OnCall Records suite that allows citizens to file police reports online, as well as request services, search for incident records and view incident maps. Hexagon rolled out HxGN OnCall Records | Citizen Reporting during HxGN LIVE Global 2023 in Las Vegas.

The new public-facing portal is designed to speed citizens’ interactions with law enforcement agencies, provide more transparency and help relieve staffing issues facing public safety departments and local governments. Using the cloud-based portal, which is linked to the law enforcement agency’s records management system (RMS), citizens can file preliminary police reports for minor incidents, leave anonymous tips, file a request for city services or view crime or accident maps for their area, depending upon the agency’s customizable configuration.

Citizen Reporting is part of HxGN OnCall Records, a cloud-based records management system (RMS) that allows agencies to quickly collect and retrieve information. It helps improve community safety by reducing officer paperwork, aiding investigations and improving administrative and resource management tasks.

The portal allows public users to choose from a drop-down list of minor incidents, then fill in the details. They can also upload relevant photos, if available. Once the report, tip or request for service is filed, citizens receive a report number and e-mail updates detailing the status of the request.

“HxGN OnCall Records | Citizen Reporting allows our law enforcement customers to serve the public faster and more transparently and use their staff more efficiently,” said Bill Campbell, senior vice president for global public safety, Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division. “It also helps them provide self-service and citizen-facing tools to the public, which is a growing trend for government agencies. This tool will increase the connection between police agencies and the public, resulting in safer jurisdictions.”
