Hexagon to Host Technology Event in Ribeirão Preto
4 October 2018
FLORIANÓPOLIS, Brazil (October 04, 2018) – Hexagon’s Agriculture division will host a select group of representatives of the largest sugarcane mills in Brazil at HxGN LOCAL Cana e Tecnologia on November 8 in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil.
The event will showcase how technology can transform sugarcane plantations into smart farms capable of producing more while spending less.
“Large agricultural operations face a lot of challenges, but none of them is so significant as the resource management,” said Bernardo de Castro, president of Hexagon’s Agriculture division. “In increasingly large and complex operations, the opportunities through digitalisation, automation and optimisation processes are huge.”,
de Castro will open HxGN LOCAL Cana e Tecnologia, with a session about “Smart Digital Reality in the Field.” The solutions developed by Hexagon connect the field, equipment and people, enabling a paradigm shift.
At HxGN LOCAL Cana e Tecnologia, Hexagon will present the HxGN AgrOnplatform, focusing on AgrOn Logistics and AgrOn Production solutions. AgrOn Logistics enables harvest management by helping the industries to plan, monitor, analyse and optimise the complex logistics processes. AgrOn Production enables the planning, execution and monitoring of operations throughout the cultivation cycle. In addition to panel sessions, attendees will hear from companies that have improved productivity of their operations by adopting revolutionary digital solutions.
Hexagon will also show two important solutions at HxGN LOCAL Cana e Tecnologia: AgrOn Control Room and Onboard Controller Ti7, which include functionalities such as electrical Auto Steering. Hexagon’s Onboard Controllers are displays that combine functions as Fertilisation Control, Spray Control, and Monitoring, among others. In practice, they promote the automation of field operations. Through sensors, they measure variables, transmit to the servers in the cloud and analyse data using machine learning techniques. AgrOn Control Room is a system that receives data from production areas, making it easy to monitor operations directly from the office. The solution issues reports and maps continuously, and if there is any failure with any monitored equipment or machine, an alert is sent out so the operator can make a decision.
“In Brazil, there are farms with areas bigger than one thousand soccer fields and tractors that cost more than a Ferrari,” said Adriano Naspolini, CTO of Hexagon’s Agriculture division. “In this segment, it is no longer a matter of choosing whether or not to adopt technology, but choosing the best partner.”.
Hexagon’s innovations are developed by a multidisciplinary team, which combines the use of the latest information technologies with deep knowledge in agribusiness, enabling addressing challenges of modern agriculture.
