EcoSys EPC Version 7 Recertifies Integration with SAP® Applications

28 May 2020

EcoSys EPC Continues to Deliver Project Data Integration and Effective Project Controls to Customers through Interoperability with SAP solutions.

Broomfield, CO – EcoSys, the industry standard for enterprise project controls software, today announced that its EPC (Enterprise Planning & Controls) version 7 has been recertified to integrate with SAP® applications.

EcoSys EPC is designed to provide the most effective way to manage and control projects and reduce project complexity through data integration. It provides organizations engaged in very expensive, complex capital projects with the proper tools to help them manage projects successfully and avoid time-consuming, error-prone manual processes.

Robust data integration capabilities allow the EcoSys EPC software platform to provide insights into performance, drive greater efficiency, predict outcomes to support proactive and prescriptive actions, and ultimately lead to stronger project outcomes. This can translate into better cost performance and higher margins across the enterprise. Using EcoSys EPC together with SAP solutions can help companies more easily manage projects, programs and capital spending.

This certification marks the fourth year that EcoSys EPC has proven to integrate with SAP solutions. Integration is achieved through the EcoSys ERP Adapter, an optional plug-in module that is flexible and scalable in how it delivers connectivity to SAP solutions, and requires no changes or installation of modules to the SAP system. The EcoSys ERP Adapter now supports the most recent version of the Java Connector component of the SAP NetWeaver® platform. It has added support for connections to multiple SAP software instances, and features reduced data transfer times with finer control over data filters and options.

“We are delighted to announce the successful achievement of SAP recertification for EcoSys EPC version 7,” said Noah Parker, chief technology officer at EcoSys. “This achievement reinforces EcoSys’ ability to provide clients with a best-in-class integration platform. EcoSys EPC’s integration with SAP applications and other data integration features are critical components of the solution, as it automates and aligns important pieces of data. This provides the most accurate view of project performance and allows project controllers to focus on doing value-added work rather than trying to manually cobble data together from disparate systems.”

As a result of the certified integration, the SAP application can serve as the customer’s main back-end business application, with bi-directional, real-time exchange of expenditures, commitments, invoices, budgets, timesheets and more with EcoSys EPC version 7. In turn, EcoSys EPC automates reporting and standardizes business processes to deliver best practices for full lifecycle project cost management in an integrated, easy-to-use Web application.

EcoSys EPC’s design philosophy is dedicated to providing users with a comprehensive platform to control projects in the most efficient and accurate way possible. The solution’s configurability and integration capabilities, combined with built-in reporting, are key to this philosophy. The platform integrates with a multitude of systems including: enterprise resource planning (ERP) and general ledger software from vendors including SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and many more; scheduling systems; timesheet and human resource systems; contract management systems; document management systems, estimating systems and Microsoft Excel.

Project-driven organizations are standardizing their project controls on the EcoSys EPC software platform and leveraging it for capital planning, budgeting and forecasting, and comprehensive management of project portfolios, costs, resources, changes, performance and earned value.
