Simulating lateral vibrations in high speed motor..

As electric and hybrid vehicles become more prominent, there is increasing pressure to achieve smaller motors, greater power density and lower costs. In effect, the main target for Design Engineers is to produce compact and high speed motors.

However, design challenges still persist as motors become faster and risk hitting resonances. The problem turns more complex as the tight integration with the rest of the driveline means that one end of the rotor shaft is the input to the gearbox.

In this webinar, we will show you how a motor rotor/gearbox input shaft (representing typical EV applications) is taken and studied for dynamic behaviour using Romax software.

The insight into the system behaviour of various multi-physical interactions being studied will be presented, showing the design to be optimised holistically and effectively.
