RADAN Minimum System Requirements

The following specifications will allow the software to install and run, however as you can see the requirements are low compared to PC's that are in common use. To ensure your PC can perform, it is always best to exceed the hardware specifications.

  • Late Model Multiple Core Intel / AMD chipset (Example i5, i7 or i9)
  • 8 RAM (minimum) 32 GB or greater (recommended)
  • 40 GB available storage
  • Solid state drive (recommended) or 7200rpm Mechanical drive (minimum)
  • Graphics board supporting either OpenGL or DirectX:
  • Minimum 1920x1080 resolution.
  • Supporting at least 65,000 colours.
  • OpenGL graphics cards must support OpenGL 3.0.
  • DirectX graphics cards must support DirectX 9.0c.
  • Available RS232 Serial ports (one port per machine requiring RS232 serial DNC) or USB to RS232 converter
  • Keyboard and mouse
  • Network interface using TCP/IP

Supported Operating systems

  • Windows® 10, 11
  • Windows® Server 2012, 2019 and 2022 (see Important note below for Server 2016)
  • We may require the latest service packs to be installed
  • ONLY 64bit versions are supported, Professional / Business versions of the operating systems are recommended

Important Note

  • Windows Server 2016 can have many different flavours and options (e.g., Nano, microservices, containers). We know of no reason the RADAN software would not work on Windows Server running in a desktop environment

Additional Notes

  • Software and subsequent can be downloaded from the Customer Portal.
  • Customers must present the RADAN engineer with a pre-configured system if they are purchasing RADAN's installation service. For networked applications, the responsibility for the networking will be with the customer.
  • Application performance is dependent upon several factors e.g., Number of used applications or network traffic. Should you require further clarification, please contact your IT provider.

  • RADAN 2022.0 was the last version to support Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
  • RADAN 2017 CADCAM is supplied in 64bit. There is a lightweight 32bit version that allows RADAN to run (DNC/2DCADCAM ONLY), limitations apply for importing data.
  • RADAN 2016 CADCAM was the last release to fully support 32bit Operating systems
