DESIGNER 2022.4

Several new enhancements have been made in the 2022.4 version of DESIGNER, Hexagon’s CAD application for smarter manufacturing. Here are some of the major highlights:

General enhancements

Using DESIGNER 2022.4, users can generate a part-list, or bill of materials (BOM), to list all the parts along with their quantities and relevant PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) such as material and type of part. In addition, DESIGNER 2022.4 has a powerful new structure tree which allows for easy management of all the data in the model and the search and filtering functionality which make it easy to make changes to specific elements in the model. Overall, the performance and user experience has been enhanced, making functionality more intuitive and easier to navigate.

Reverse engineering enhancements

Reverse engineering capabilities have been further enhanced in DESIGNER 2022.4 to give more power and control to the user. In particular, the automatic surfacing tool is now more intuitive, outputting higher quality surfaces faster.

Sheet metal enhancements

DESIGNER 2022.4 offers better discoverability of useful functionality when using the quick search facility. When splitting faces, the split can now be split asymmetrically, which is the only correct solution in certain circumstances. Finally, creating a manufacturing pack now benefits from the automatic recognition of circular and rectangular hollow sections.

    General enhancements

    Using DESIGNER 2022.4, users can generate a part-list, or bill of materials (BOM), to list all the parts along with their quantities and relevant PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) such as material and type of part. A top-level assembly item has been added in the Structure Tree which makes it possible to select or deselect all elements, show or hide all elements, collapse, and expand all groups, along with concept of active groups and workplanes, and instance management. Overall, the performance and user experience has been enhanced, making functionality more intuitive and easier to navigate.

    Los instrumentos de ingeniería inversa se han mejorado aún más en DESIGNER 2022.4. El instrumento automático de superficie se ha hecho más potente y fácil de usar. Se han añadido útiles consejos sobre herramientas a las funciones para mejorar la capacidad de descubrimiento. Al cambiar los atributos, los resultados se calculan y muestran al instante, mejorando la velocidad y la eficiencia. Los usuarios pueden generar un único modelo de superficie para obtener resultados más rápidos y de alta calidad.

    Mejoras en la chapa metálica

    Con DESIGNER 2022.4 es más fácil cambiar una pieza de chapa eliminando un plegado y añadiéndola a otra ubicación adecuada para mejorar el anidamiento del desarrollo de piezas de chapa metálica y, en última estancia, mejorar el uso de la chapa de materia prima. Al dividir superficies, ahora la división se puede realizar de forma asimétrica, lo que en determinadas circunstancias es la única solución correcta. La nueva función de detección de tubos permite a los usuarios distinguir rápidamente las piezas tubulares redondas y rectangulares de otras piezas de chapa metálica. Esto hace que el proceso de creación de un paquete de fabricación sea más rápido.
