Geomagic Control X 2026.1.0
Scanner Direct Control
ZG Handheld Devices Plugin
- Plugin now included by default in Control X 2026.1 as Hexagon/ZG Handheld 3D Scanner.
- Allows the user to use scanning properties of HHScan for ZG handheld scanners inside the Control X environment.
- Compatible with ATLASCAN, MARVELSCAN* & HYPERSCAN, CERESCAN+ and RIGELSCAN +.
- User would need to install HH Scan. Please see ZG Handheld Scanning Interface Quick Start Guide for setup details.
* target-free mode scanning not available for the moment.
+ available only in China.
ZG HyperProbe Plugin
- Use HyperProbe directly in Control X through Live Inspect.
- User would need to install HH Scan 2026.3 or a later version to use the plugin. Please see Tutorial on using HyperProbe in Control X for details.
DefinSight Plugin
- Replaced ScanViewer plugin with the new software DefinSight plugin from Scantech.
- This plugin supports all devices that were supported by ScanViewer earlier.
Updated RDS
- Upgraded RDS to version 6.6.
- Supports grayscale line scanning.
- Unicode support for project names and paths.
Scripting (Text and Visual)
New Scripting Actions
Transform Body.
Custom Selection for Entity.
Offset Measured Data.
Manual Pairing
Additional Scripting Options
Set Projected Tolerance Zone for GD&T actions.
- Position
- Perpendicularity
- Angularity
- Parallelism
- Concentricity
Extend Boundaries to Fill Holes in HD Mesh Construction.
Use Only Reliable Measured Data in Best Fit Alignment.
Create Straightness for cylindrical axes using either the By Section or By Median Geometry methods.
Control visibility of entities.
Access measurement values and deviation results for GD&T analysis.
Concave/Convex check for cylindrical, spherical and conical shapes.
Scripting Workflow
Interactive selection of poly-vertices and poly-faces by pausing the script and using that selection in the script.
Automated mesh cleanup workflows are now possible by deleting selected portions of a mesh.
Use ‘Selection by Geometry’ to create custom selections.
Boundary Inspection
Import Scan Boundary Geometry
Use boundary features (circles, slots, rectangles) directly for inspection workflows by importing them from scan data.
Scan Boundary Auto Search
Speed up boundary pairing by using an automated Scan Boundary Auto Search option.
3D Compare
More Consistent and Correct Results
- Consistent measurement data used regardless whether “Use Selected Data Only” is turned On or Off.
- Addressed several issues related to incorrect display, updating tags, incorrect results under certain conditions, etc.
Scan Data Processing
Split Mesh
- Use multiple tools simultaneously to split a mesh and choose which portion(s) to keep.
- Increases user productivity by avoiding repetitive operations and by providing visualization of the result in a single operation, especially when multiple or intersecting tool entities are used for splitting.
- New Project Curve(s) to Nearest Scan option that allows a mesh to be split by projecting 3D curves onto the nearest mesh surface.
- Existing directional projection method remains available under a new name Project Curve(s) Along One Direction, allowing curves to be projected along a specified direction when a controlled cutting direction is required.
- Gives user a high level of flexibility to split the scan data as desired when splitting using curves.
- Use planes as split tools.
- Keep both inner and outer portions of the mesh as separate entities when splitting using a closed curve.
- Allows the user to separate the mesh while not losing any portion of the scan data and continue editing and processing the remaining portions as needed.
- Cap section ends when splitting meshes with multiple enclosed concentric profiles.
- Reduces or eliminates the need for further repair operations by producing cleaner and more usable result.
- Improved robustness and quality of scan data processing results by resolving several issues related to splitting the mesh.
Decimate Mesh
- Achieve target count for the poly-faces.
- 2x-4x performance improvement.
- Robust, adaptive, high-quality results.
File I/O
DMO Output
- Generate DMIS output (DMO files) from Batch Process and Automation Server.
- Include Tolerance, Deviation and Pass/Fail results for Simulated CMM Points.
Import Files and PMI from Latest CAD Packages
Import Leica Geosystems Files
- Import .LGSX files into Control X.
Improved Native File Reliability
- Enhanced the native Geomagic Control X file writing and loading process to better handle file corruption.
- Display a notification offering to attempt recovery, allowing the user to open the modeling project with recovered data whenever possible.
Selection
Save Custom Selection
Create reusable selection set from poly-vertices and poly-faces.
Select Visible Only for CAD Entities
Use “Visible Only” to limit CAD face selection to entities visible in the current view.
Documentation
Expanded Text Scripting Documentation
- Text scripting documentation has been expanded and updated, making Python automation easier to learn and refer.
- More example scripts are now available.
Licensing
