Hexagon strengthens Italian support for ESPRIT CAM software with the acquisition of reseller CIM3
13 December 2022
Hexagon AB, a global leader in digital reality solutions combining sensor, software and autonomous technologies, today announced the acquisition of CIM3, an Italian distributor of Hexagon’s ESPRIT software.
ESPRIT is high-performance computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software that specialises in CNC machine programming, optimisation, and simulation for precision machining. Developed in close cooperation with machine vendors, the scalable platform orchestrated modular support for multi-tasking, complex Swiss-turning operations, wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) and additive manufacturing processes.
Founded in 1990, CIM3 has resold ESPRIT products since 1998 and is one of the largest resellers in Italy. Headquartered in Ravenna, the company supports ESPRIT customers in Emilia Romagna, neighbouring Marche, and throughout Italy. CIM3’s experienced team will continue to support the ESPRIT software portfolio as part of Hexagon’s direct organisation.
“The acquisition of CIM3 will improve support for our ESPRIT customers and is an important step to evolve our sales activity in Italy,” said Stephen Chadwick, EMEA President for Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. “The CIM3 team brings a wealth of ESPRIT software knowledge and expertise and deep local market knowledge. Integrating CIM3 will ensure security for its customers and I’m confident that the experienced team will provide very valuable know-how and expertise to customers as their machining needs become more complex.”
CIM3 will be consolidated within Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. The acquisition has no significant impact on the results of Hexagon.
