The new entry point to the HYPERSCAN series brings dynamic optical tracking to on-site, field and limited-access inspection – fast to deploy and built for everyday operators.
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence Business Area previewed HYPERSCAN SR, a fully wireless optical tracking 3D scanner and the new entry point to its HYPERSCAN series, shown for the first time at IMTS 2026 (Booth #134102).
Manufacturers increasingly need to inspect parts where the work happens, whether that's on the production line, across multiple facilities or out in the field. While optical tracking makes it possible to capture accurate measurements even when parts or their surroundings are moving, traditional systems often require cables, time-consuming setup and specialized operators. HYPERSCAN SR removes those barriers, making high-accuracy optical tracking more practical for everyday manufacturing.
Natively fully wireless, with WiFi 6 connectivity and battery power, HYPERSCAN SR deploys quickly and is straightforward for non-specialist operators to run. Its dynamic tracking follows both the part and the scanner at once, so movement and vibration do not interrupt the scan. A wide scanning area, multiple scanning modes with hole flash capture and edge detection, and target-free scanning make it productive across a broad range of parts, and it is ready for integration onto a cobot or industrial robot.
HYPERSCAN SR joins HYPERSCAN Ultra and HYPERSCAN Super to complete Hexagon's optical scanning portfolio. HYPERSCAN SR offers a fully wireless, highly portable entry point, HYPERSCAN Ultra is designed for everyday production scanning, and HYPERSCAN Super delivers maximum range and performance for large-scale parts and automated inspection. All three systems share the same workflows and coordinate system, making it easy to scale as measurement needs evolve.

HYPERSCAN SR is designed for applications where mobility matters most, including on-site and in-field inspection, supplier and incoming-goods verification, field service and maintenance, tooling and fixture inspection, and decentralized quality control. It is well suited for manufacturers across automotive, rail, energy, construction, industrial equipment, consumer products and general manufacturing.
