To strengthen this culture of care, the company implemented Hexagon Collision Avoidance System (CAS), a technology that acts as a preventive defence layer against potential collisions between light and heavy vehicles.

Using CAS, Lomas Bayas reduced risks and increased operator confidence, establishing itself as a local and international benchmark in the adoption of safety technologies. 

From reliance on radio to confidence in real-time alerts

Before implementation, operators relied primarily on radio communication to identify nearby vehicles. This limitation reduced situational awareness and increased the likelihood of incidents in areas with high equipment traffic. Today, using CAS, radio communication is complemented by real-time alerts and 360-degree visibility, ensuring drivers are fully aware of their surroundings. This evolution represents not only a technological advancement, but a significant shift in how safety is experienced within the operation.

The solution provides drivers with a comprehensive view of their vehicle’s surroundings—covering the sides, front and rear—using high-precision sensors that anticipate risks and prevent impacts, helping to protect people, vehicles, and equipment while reducing operational costs and downtime.
