QUINDOS 2021.1

Features & benefits
New features for QUINDOS inspection planning with PMIs
QUINDOS provides a range of new functions to import and translate GD&T information into PMIs.
QUINDOS 2021.1 provides two new methods for data import to complement the previously entirely interactive integration of user-defined PMIs:- Automated optical character recognition (OCR) can be used to efficiently import digitised drawings.
- Based on the import of DFD files following the standardised Q-DAS AQDEF format, pre-processed information can be interactively assigned to the surfaces in the 3D CAD model.
The necessary specifications for the inspection features are imported automatically.
Missing PMI inspection features in the native 3D-CAD model can be efficiently integrated into the data and the automated inspection planning process using the new methods.
Import of inspection features via OCR utilises existing 2D drawings, which are loaded into QUINDOS as images or PDFs. QUINDOS transforms the drawing information into a clearly structured table while simultaneously displaying the part drawing. Features that are selected in the table are automatically highlighted on the drawing so that users can easily identify the surfaces on the model to which the PMI are assigned.
DFD data import offers the same level of ease. Due to the simple syntax, existing DFD files based on the Q-DAS AQDEF format can be modified, if needed, and imported. The necessary information to create the PMIs is automatically translated from the K-fields and presented for interactive assignment to the 3D-CAD model.
Both methods can also be applied to standardised 3D-CAD models (IGES, STEP), which normally do not contain PMIs. On the metrology side, all necessary inspection features and their specifications are integrated as PMIs in the model in the first step. At the end of the process, the 3D-CAD model is wholly equal to a native CAD model with PMI data from Construction, thus enabling simple, reproducible inspection planning with PMI support.
New generate methods for QUINDOS BASIC
The existing interactive methods for planes in a CAD model have been enhanced with a range of new variants and optimised, allowing faster, field-tested nominal point generation on parts.
In addition, interactive generate methods for planes can now be implemented in CNC mode. Thus, QUINDOS users have a wide variety of available points patterns at their disposal. QUINDOS now contains a library of strategies for this purpose. The user can modify the methods as required and draw upon them to design customised methods.
QUINDOS BASIC: new hardware support
QUINDOS 2021.1 supports the Nikon LC15Dx line scanner, which further expands the portfolio of optical sensors thanks to its accuracy. The integration enables highly flexible solutions. In combination with the multisensor technology SENMATION and support for 4-axis scanning, the Nikon LC15Dx is a sensor solution offering throughput on a superior level and paves the way to new fields of application. -
