What is precision measurement?

Precision measurement is the capture of the physical environment at the highest possible level of detail. It means knowing with verified, repeatable certainty the exact dimensions of a component, the true position of a structure, or the real‑time location of a machine moving at speed. Modern measurement technology enables us to see down to a micron – smaller than a bacterium.
