MSC Railway – Modeling and Analysis Techniques for the Railway Industry

 

Objectives

This course will address the essential aspects of study focused on various fields of the Railway Industry. The objective of the course is to give the participants a basic training in FEM, multibody and acoustic simulations applied to aspects such as rolling, wheel-rail contact or structural behavior of a bogie. Fundamental aspects of modeling and analysis of results will be covered in the following disciplines: structural analysis, multibody analysis of mechanical systems, and acoustic analysis.

  • Introduction to Multibody Analysis for rolling simulations
  • Structural Analysis of rolling stock
  • Introduction to non-linear simulation for wheel-rail contact
  • Introduction to acoustic simulation to study cabin comfort

Basic notions of FEM Analysis and MBD
