20 March 2018

SWINDON, UK, March 20, 2018

Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure has joined the British Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (British APCO) as a platinum member. Platinum is British APCO’s highest-ranking membership category, reflecting Hexagon’s continuous support for public safety in the UK.

British APCO is acknowledged as the leading UK-based association for all professionals using and developing public safety technology. It plays a pivotal role in the improvement of emergency services communications and information technology.

The global leader in computer-aided dispatch solutions for control rooms, Hexagon has served as a vendor and partner to hundreds of public safety organizations around the globe for more than 30 years, supporting smooth incident management, integrated control and command operations and streamlined public safety procedures. Hexagon’s critical control room solutions for the UK public safety community help to optimize resources, enhance information, and integrate workflows for numerous police, fire and ambulance services.

While members of the Hexagon team have been individual British APCO members for years, this marks the beginning of its corporate membership. As a platinum member, Hexagon will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of UK public safety and the sustainable, long-term technological development of the industry. As part of the British APCO Marketing Committee, Hexagon will draw from its expertise and commercial experience to advise on British APCO events, projects and work.

“We are delighted to join British APCO’s efforts in furthering public safety through cutting-edge technology”, said Peter Prater, UK Managing Director of Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure, who himself is celebrating his own 25-year association with British APCO. “This is a critical time for the public safety community, as the market moves in new and innovative directions. By supplying our long-standing experience in the public safety sector, we will strive to complement the fruitful British APCO community.”

“British APCO are very pleased to welcome Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure as Platinum members”, said John Anthony MBE, British APCO President. “As long standing supporter of British APCO, we recognize the importance Hexagon places on working with the public safety community and we look forward to developing this relationship together.” Ian Thompson, British APCO CEO added, “Peter Prater has always been a staunch supporter of British APCO and is an honoured Life Member. We are pleased to see his enthusiasm for publicsafety communications and technology.”

As a new corporate member of British APCO, Hexagon will feature its industry-leading solutions, including its Intergraph Planning & Response application for major event management, at stand G11 during the British APCO Annual Exhibition and Conference, being held March 20 - 21, 2018, at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK.
