Hexagon to Support Maryland’s Harford County with Records Management Upgrade

29 July 2020

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 29, 2020

Hexagon’s Safety & Infrastructure division today announced public safety agencies in Harford County, Md., have selected HxGN OnCall® Records to modernize and support law enforcement efforts. The new countywide records management system (RMS) will better equip first responders to manage incidents, identify trends and analyze law enforcement data in communities across the county.

Harford County is home to nearly a quarter million people in more than 40 communities. A longtime Hexagon customer, Harford County Sheriff’s Office elected to upgrade its records technology to HxGN OnCall Records to achieve NIBRS compliance. Other deciding factors included the ability to quickly convert existing data, the solution’s modern framework and user interface and its reliable access to comprehensive information whenever and wherever needed.

Using the web-based platform, the county can save time capturing important data in the field and provide new data insights for proactive policing. Additionally, HxGN OnCall Records users can customize and configure the platform, leading to a lower total cost of ownership by minimizing dependency on vendor interactions.

“As policing has changed, our technology needs have evolved as well,” said Sheriff Jeff Gahler. “HxGN OnCall Records has the flexibility and ease of configuration we were looking for in a modern, web-based solution. It will also enable our agency to perform NIBRS reporting, which will help us analyze and understand trends in our jurisdiction.”

“Hexagon has a rich history of developing the best public safety products in the market,” said Ben Ernst, vice president and general manager of U.S. Public Safety for Hexagon’s Safety & Infrastructure division. “We’ve had an excellent relationship with Harford County, and are thrilled to offer advanced reporting and analysis capabilities through HxGN OnCall Records.”

Agencies sharing the countywide RMS include the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Aberdeen Police Department, Bel Air Police Department and Havre de Grace Police Department.
