Hexagons Weg zu Netto-Null-Emissionen
Hexagon ist der Initiative „Business Ambition for 1.5 °C“ beigetreten und hat sich verpflichtet, wissenschaftlich begründete Netto-Null-Ziele für Kohlenstoffemissionen festzulegen.
Um seine Nachhaltigkeitsagenda voranzubringen, hat sich Hexagon öffentlich dazu verpflichtet, Ziele für seine Kohlendioxidemissionen gemäß dem Netto-Null-Standard zu setzen und seine Ziele von der Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) validieren zu lassen. Dieses Engagement stärkt Hexagons zuvor mitgeteilte Zielvorgaben für die Verringerung der Kohlendioxidemissionen, um bis 2030 in Scope 1 und 2 und bis 2050 in Scope 3 klimaneutral zu werden. Hexagon wird sich der Initiative „Business Ambition for 1.5 °C“ anschließen und seine Ziele anhand wissenschaftlicher Kriterien validieren sowie einen konkreten Aktionsplan und eine Strategie mit Meilensteinen auf seinem Weg zur Netto-Null vorstellen.
Die SBTi ist eine Kooperation zwischen CDP, dem Global Compact der Vereinten Nationen, dem World Resources Institute (WRI) und dem World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Über 2.000 Organisationen weltweit führen den Übergang zu einer Netto-Null-Wirtschaft an, indem sie im Rahmen der SBTi klimawissenschaftlich begründete Emissionsreduktionsziele festlegen.

Our sustainability improvements are a long-term commitment. More accurate and comprehensive data tracking of all emissions is essential to ensure we make informed decisions across the company that move us closer to achieving our climate goals. To do this, Hexagon has:- Increased focus on operational discipline
- Increased reporting of environmental indicators in facilities
- Performed a screening of Scope 3 emissions

About the SBTi
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions-reduction targets in line with the latest climate science. The SBTi is focused on accelerating the efforts of companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.
The initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments. The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption and independently assesses and approves companies’ targets.
* Scope 1 emissions are the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our company cars and the fuels used in our facilities.
** Scope 2 emissions are the indirect GHG emissions associated with our purchase of electricity.
† Scope 3 emissions are the GHG emissions occurring in our value chain but outside our company facilities for which Hexagon is indirectly responsible.
†† Ensuring suppliers that account for at least 80% of our procurement spend have a CO2 reduction plan in place.
