Burlington Hydro Deploys Hexagon Advanced Utility GIS Solutions to Manage Electricity Network

Hexagon’s Safety & Infrastructure division announced today that Burlington Hydro, an energy services company in Ontario, Canada, has successfully deployed Hexagon’s advanced utility geographic information system (GIS) solutions. The suite of network management tools enables Burlington Hydro to maintain a definitive source of location-based information for managing its networks and connectivity and sharing vital GIS data across the organization.

Burlington Hydro provides electricity to nearly 70,000 residential and commercial customers through a network of 32 substations and 1,600 kilometres of distribution lines. With Hexagon’s solutions, the utility can better maintain its network records, and trust that they are accurate, consistent and current. By applying the solution’s intelligent, rules-driven tools, Burlington Hydro can streamline and enhance processes for designing and documenting its entire network.
