Jennifer Glass, User Experience (UX) Manager for Hexagon’s Safety and Infrastructure division, joined the company after a long career in air and missile defense programs. Her appreciation for science and user interfaces instinctively drew her to this role. Getting to help design impactful software that is simple for customers to use has now become the cornerstone of her job day in and day out.
“Every second counts in the user interfaces our team designs,” says Glass. “We have to make sure that the information is really easy for the user to find because in public safety, first responders need to see everything promptly so that they can respond quickly.”I work in a very positive and collaborative environment where everyone really supports one another. That’s a really unique characteristic in a workplace and something that I've never experienced before coming here.
Glass has admired the dedication and professionalism of her team members, as well as everyone she has interacted with at Hexagon.
“I work in a very positive and collaborative environment where everyone really supports one another,” says Glass. “That’s a unique characteristic in a workplace and something that I've never experienced before coming here.”
This kind of positivity has played into every aspect of her role, including being able to go out and interact with those who are using Hexagon technology — getting to experience firsthand the critical needs and responsibilities these responders have on their shoulders.
“It’s a great feeling to go home every day and feel like the work we're doing is going to continue to help our users — and we’ve been able to see how that’s taking place in many different communities,” said Glass.
